Originally from Salem, VA, Julie attended Hollins University for undergrad to study creating writing and theatre before shifting her focus to child psychology. She then attended The Sage Colleges in New York focusing on Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism.

With almost 20 years of experience in the field, Julie originally discovered ABA while completing her undergrad and she never looked back. She has worked as a technician in Virginia, North Carolina, Indiana, and Oregon practicing in homes, schools, therapeutic boarding schools, and a variety of clinic settings.

In 2015, she earned her Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification while working in Oregon, and quickly moved up to an Assistant Clinical Director position before returning home to the east coast in 2022. She joined the Kind BH team in January of 2023.

For Julie, working with families is the most rewarding of jobs. She has learned a great deal about what it means to be true to oneself and is passionate about teaching, educating, and empowering children and young adults with autism to be active participants and live their true, unique, and best lives.

Julie has a 7 year-old son who is the light of her life and an amazing husband who rounds out the team. She loves a good book snuggled under a cozy blanket any day of the week, but can also be found outside gardening or adventuring with her family!
