Originally from Vega Baja, a town on the northern coast of Puerto Rico, Danica earned both a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology as well as a Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of South Florida. With over 12 years of experience serving children, adolescents, and adults with autism, Danica has worked across various settings including in-home, clinic, school, in-patient unit, supported living group homes, and adult day training programs. Her clinical experience includes analysis and treatment of severe challenging behavior, developing language and social-emotional skills, offering intensive family services and education to caregivers, and fostering independent living and self-advocacy.
Danica is very passionate about family training, cultural considerations, and multi-disciplinary partnerships. One such collaboration included securing funding to offer bilingual ABA services to underserved communities! Before relocating to North Carolina in 2020 and joining CCABA, Danica and her partner Brady drove their camper van across Central and South America for 18 months (what an adventure!). Outside of work, you can find her spending time in nature, road tripping, gardening, playing board games, salsa dancing, or cuddling her awesome Doberman, Chaos.
