OUR STORY

Expanding access to high- quality care for over 15 years

As a leader in autism services in North Carolina, our founder, Denise DeCandia, has long been a pioneer in expanding access to care.

Originally from Long Island (and a passionate Mets fan), Denise began her career in autism services splitting her time between ABA services for young children in home settings and severe maladaptive behavior treatment for adults in a group home setting. She was quickly drawn to the power of ABA as an evidence-based, intensive intervention and its ability to help children access greater opportunity for independence and autonomy. Ever since, Denise has dedicated her life to expanding access to high-quality ABA services.

Today, CCABA is proud to be the leading provider of ABA services in North Carolina. Building on a central theme of CCABA’s history, the organization continues to believe that strong clinicians are critical to strong outcomes. With that, CCABA consistently invests heavily in training its clinical team and maintains a commitment to upholding the highest professional standards. Additionally, we continue a core belief that diversity make us stronger, both in terms of our team mates as well as the clients we serve.

Building a safe community

At CCABA, we strive to build a community where all members feel safe. We believe that opportunity should be accessible to all and that our work to create an environment in which exceptional people can think big, have fun, and do good is predicated on engaging team members with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.

Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, irrespective of age, race, gender, gender identity, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, physical abilities, or neurological functioning. Prejudicial discrimination of any kind and in any form is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

When any CCABA key stakeholder (i.e., client, client family member/ caregiver, employee, partner) is accused of discriminatory behavior, an internal review committee will review all known details and respond with a resolution and corrective action as necessary, including the potential to separate (e.g., refer out, terminate employment).
